Equity & Markets Insight is an information website. We research companies and markets, we analyse what we find, and we publish our opinion on it. That is the whole of what we do. Everything here is general information and commentary, published for anyone who wants to read it.

What it is not

We are not an advice company and we do not give investment advice. Nothing on this site is a personal recommendation, and nothing here should be taken as advice. We do not know you, your circumstances, your objectives, your finances or your tax position, and nothing we publish takes account of them.

Nothing on this site is an offer, a solicitation or a recommendation to buy or sell any security. Where we describe a company as cheap, expensive, good or poor, we are giving a view, not telling you what to do with your money.

Regulatory status

Equity & Markets Insight is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. We are not a broker, a fund manager or a financial adviser, and we do not carry out any regulated activity.

Our opinions

Our opinions are our own, they are sometimes wrong, and they are meant to be a starting point rather than a conclusion. If something we publish interests you, treat it as the beginning of your own research: read the company's own reporting, look at the numbers yourself, take other views into account, and reach your own judgement.

We may hold positions in the companies we write about. Where we do, we say so in the article.

Risk and market data

The value of investments can fall as well as rise. You may get back less than you put in. Past performance tells you nothing reliable about future returns.

Prices and company data on this site come from third-party providers and are delayed, not live. They are refreshed a few times each trading day, and every page that shows a price shows when that price was captured. We take reasonable care, but figures can be wrong, incomplete or out of date, and we are not responsible for errors in data supplied to us.
